A well executed winter ensemble is a magnificent sight to behold. Though the biting cold can sometimes be harsh and inhumane, a frosty winter sets the perfect stage for the menswear equivalent of a symphony orchestra - a beautiful amalgamation of different fabrics, textures, and tones that is both functional and elegant.
The gentlemen pictured above is a good demonstration of this: sporting a fur-collared overcoat with a brown tweed jacket and a grey sweater, this man is well prepared to brave against the winter elements without looking like the Michelin man.
So go ahead, ditch your high visibility ski jacket and get yourself an overcoat. Just remember: keep it above the knee - anything lower is approaching Shackleton territory.
